Gosh, this New Year's was sort of a blur. Which is why I haven't been posting.... Spent most of my Christmas break eating ramen with my cat and fighting with Ben.. Then spent my New Year's arguing drink prices with some lady and getting beer spilled on me.... Then more arguing with Ben.. I haven't checked my email in about two week... and I don't wanna. I did manage to open a new bank account tho.. yay. PNC has this thing called virtual wallet which actually pays my bills for me and plans how much money I have. Having that 6 month panic attack I do.. where I'm dissatisfied with my life and I want to just move to a new place and do something else but now I'm depressed 'cause I'm too poor to have the freedom to just up and move where ever I want without telling anybody and that sucks.

Ben and I have been fighting a lot lately and I don't know what to think of it... I really like him but sometimes I like to be more in a latchkey relationship and Varying from not spending time together then spending a week together gets me confused. I know if we break up I don't think i would want to date anyone else. It'll just be more boring time with Sausage and I can think about moving or going to school.

This is one of my favorite paintings made by Kozyndan. Kozyndan is actually a design duo made up of a guy names Dan and a girl named Kozy. The description from their website below:

Kozyndan are Los Angeles based mad scientists. They are working on a secret formula for controlled nuclear fusion, and are creating a line of edible chickens. For fun they like to take long deep breaths and dip their heads into bowls of raspberry jelly and lemon curd. They live indoors and don't paint on walls. The couple also moonlights as freelance illustrators.

Today I'm talking about Tang Yuan. My favorite little white and pink balls. Nom Nom Nom.

Tang Yuan is eaten during the Winter Solstice. Tang Yuan literally means "round balls in soup." The balls, which you can buy frozen or make from rice powder. They sometimes contain stuff inside. My favorite are the unstuffed ones, but they could contain sesame, red bean, and other random chinese desert stuffings.. You know what they are. My grandmother always make this congee with Tang yuan in it an it's so delicious with Longan and peanuts and red beans. Today, I'm just making plain ones... still good. Here's how:

Ingredients:

1. 1 tbsn Sugar

2. 2 cups Glutinous Rice Flour (aka Mochiko Flour or Sweet Rice Flour) note: the box may say gluten-free flour, this is because glutinous rice flour doesn't actually contain any gluten.

3. optional: food coloring.

Combine ingredients in such a way so it makes a little ball of rice dough. I usually start with flour and slowly add water into the mix until it becomes moldable but doesn't stick to your fingers.

Divide into 4 balls and apply color then, break into smaller balls at about 1/2 inch in diameter.

If you make a lot, you can place the extra the little dough balls into a plastic bag and freeze them until use. I made mine fresh. Boil sugar and water an place the little dough balls into the pot. Like gnocchi, the dough balls are done when when they float to the top.

Sunday Funday

This weekend, Ben took me skiing with two of our friends. Ben attempted to teach me how to snowboard (which I dutifully took to naming skiiboard all weekend to piss him off). It was kinda fucking cold but it was fun.

We drove allllll the way to this place called Cascade Moutain in the mids of Wisconsin. It's full of people with too much time on their hands and way too much cold weather. First things first about snowboarding is that you gotta make sure you stay warm. I didn't get goggles 'cause I'm not hardcore enough. Ben is hardcore enough. He has goggles.

My refection shot didn't really work.. but that's me.. sorta.

I didn't get a good picture of the slopes cause my hands were too cold to use my iphone, but basically if you picture like... a big hill.. with snow and lots of skiiers... That's what it looked like. On the second day, I didn't really snowboard at all cause everything hurt from the first day of biting the snow. I mostly sat in the lodge and read Interview mag. Something I learned: snowboarding is mostly about keeping your balance so you don't fall down. Something that would have come in handy would be whiskers... or a tiny umbrella I could hold above my head like a wire walker. I wasn't reminded to bring any of those things so I fell down a lot and into a tree. Such is life.

Anyways.. next time, I'm gonna remember to bring warmer clothes and a lot more energy. Ben wants me to get good so I can snow board with him down double D's. I just wanna get good to justify an airbushed snowboard with a picture of spirit horses running though misty rainbows. Something reminicent betwixt a MLP DVD cover and those Indian spirit horses that run though shallow creeks.

So the Fall Preview 2010 issue of V is super hot. I've been super busy making blogs and whatnots. It's been super stressing me out.. but.. sigh.. it's okay. I just SUPER want a desk and room 2 work in. Ordering.......... now. Had a really good day today walking on the beach and just relaxing. My feet kill but I picked up some super cute shoes. I feel like I can jump right into work tomorrow (after a big cup of coffee of course). Sausage has been really sweet to me and we're gonna go snuggle and wait for tomorrow. Everything feels fine.

Meeting the bff again today. Super exiting things are going on.. Can't really talk about them.. but yep.. I'm excited.

I've been talking to this super cute guy.. I really like him. He's seems really good for me and what direction I'm going in in my life. I'm planning to stop dancing. Should probably make a definitive date to work towards. Gonna go back to being poor.. Sucky. There's just a couple more things I want to buy before I go back to having normal people money: S/S '10 Michael Kors snakeskin clutch (which should probably be on sale since I've waited so long to buy it), Jeffery Campbell shoes, and a metal detector for digging up old crap... among other things.

Think I will be interior decorating my apartment via BLEACH BLACK. I guess it's gonna have a lot of negative space.... designery. Haven't decided on if i want to paint my walls. I may do a large stencil mural with white black light paint.

Anyways.. interesting wikipedia article of the day.. M totally lied to me about that "biggest producer" fact.

Moving time is nearing. Officially moved out of Cbus today. I'm going to miss everyone.. but things were starting to turn sour at the house. Relationship jealousy is a total bitch. I know there's often a 30-70 split of people who like to remain friends with their exes compared to people who never see, talk, hear from their exes. Do you think that just because you break up with someone you should not be friends? I guess after a relationship ends someone is just too hurt to face the other. In that case, you probably shouldn't be friends... for at least a while. I guess that's kinda the state that M and I are at. Maybe I shouldn't reach out for him. He never had very many people to depend on emotionally speaking though so I feel I should make an effort to make him feel better. But maybe I'm the cause of the problems... I should probably just shut up. M did mention that he wanted to meet up for tea maybe (like we are in fucking England?) soon... So I'm leaving it to him.

I couldn't sleep at all last night. So I searched on Craig's List for a new companion for my new apartment. I'm receiving a Black Maine Coon kitty cat on Monday. :) He's 5 years old and apparently comes with a jealous personality. Unlike my dog, he IS neutered and declawed. I think we'll have fun. His name is Sausage. Hilar.. but somehow fitting. I'm hoping he's all black so I will not have to deal with any white hairs on my clothes... but we'll see. I like surprises.

I'm super happy with my life right now.. Things that have happened within the last month have totally. I really can't contain myself about how excited about this move I am. I love the people in my life right now and everything feels safe, secure, right.. Totally ready to ditch a lot of my "luggage" literally and figuratively. And the fact that my computer is totally on its way out... (i'd give it a week) is kinda symbolic of all the shit in my life i need to get rid of. Buying a new macbookpro next week tho.. Think I'll become a cat person...

on a different topic.. i got my taint AND bellybutton pierced yesterday. Let me just say, it looks hot as fuck. The bellybutton piercing totally hurt more. My bff of 17 years and I are planning to go into business together. I'm super psyched for this. I no longer want to strip.. although I enjoy it very much, It's so taxing mentally and physically. Although, I will be doing it until I can make real people money.

I saw my ex today. lol. It's just the same story. the only ex I've been trying to get a hold of is M. After blowing up his phone for 3 days.. he txted me this morning saying, "I'll talk to you tomorrow." which i don't believe for a sec. anyways.. It's been a year since "the separation," and I feel like I'm just now getting over it completely. I'm totally ready to not date anymore psycho douche-bags and I want someone that has stability and is over 24. Actually, I already have a date with this really cute guy in Chicago. Hoping it goes well.
